Progressive organizations such as YWC!LI must help get the vote out or risk allowing voters to be misinformed by Tea Party activists. For example Tea Party types make it sound like social security will go broke shortly. Yet the reality is that social security is fully funded to 2035 and at that point, without any changes, can still provide 75% of benefits forever. That even Ronald Reagan helped preserve social security for 50 years. Now it’s time to do the next fix. If we allow Tea party types to win elections they will try to destroy decades of progressive legislation. They’d kill social security by underfunding it, giving it to Wall Street or raising the retirement age.

The wind park is coming to our area . There will be resistance as there always is. The bottom line is that over 70 % of Long Island residents support it Those who live on the waters edge, drive power boats, fish commercially, or claim to visit the beaches frequently will oppose it. It will split the environmental community I was an active co founder of LI WindWorks the last time the issue was alive. The battle will play out the same again. As long as there is not a negative environmental impact( and those who oppose it will be looking hard to find something) or a negative economic consequence( the same people will also be digging hard to find one) wind power will be coming to a grid near us all soon

Oh Yes We Can! President Obama has done more than any Administration in the United States. It's too bad of the hate and lies spread to President Obama. However I am glad to see the tea party and other people show their "true colors" about race in America. It is a great time in the United States of America. Nothing that the president has said or done while in office demonstrates that he hates the US. Thoroughly loyal Americans have different opinions on what is best for the US, On this subject good people can disagree. I accept that both Ellis and Marco are good Americans and they disagree, and I disagree with both of them. The president's position is quite reasonable, but so is the congressman's, and not even the most extreme left wing ideologue can legitimately claim that Peter King is anything but a loyal American. Mr. King has repeatedly demonstrated that he is an independent thinker not bound by what would appear to be his party's position. He has a right to his opinion and it is only right that he display it to his constituents.
