Yes We Can! Long Island 2012Congresswoman Carolyn McCarthy remains an important supporter of the progressive agenda. Her seat in New York’s Fourth Congressional District is being threatened by an aggressive attack from the extreme right. Nothing could be worse for the residents of her district and for New Yorkers in general than losing this election to Fran Becker.
Serving her sixth term, McCarthy’s highly favorable voting record in support of a strong middle class has remained consistent over the years.
Her seniority on the House’ Education and Labor Committee and its Financial Services Committee is critical to Long Island’s future educational programs and college affordability. She has worked to ensure our country’s energy security and is active in supporting pro-environmental legislation and programs.
Rather than listing all the qualities that make her a worthy representative, I ask that you join Yes We Can! Long Island’s efforts to re-elect Congresswoman McCarthy. You need not be a resident of her congressional district to make phone calls on her behalf.
Yes We Can! Long Island will be starting its phone-bank efforts this week. Our goal is to make 10,000 calls to registered Democrats between now and Election Day.
We are making it easy for you by providing carefully prepared call lists and a brief script. Each call will take less than a minute. An initial set of fifty names and telephone numbers will be emailed to you.
Many of our members have already volunteered to participate. However, the more of us who get involved the sooner we will reach our goal and contribute importantly to Cong. McCarthy’s re-election.

McCarthy is an absolute failure. WHAT has she done in 6 terms? NOTHING…she does not represent the majority of constituents and in fact does not have town hall meetings and does not respond to her constituents.
