Hey Jude, don’t make it bad,
take a sad song and make it better.
On June 2nd, President Obama presented America’s highest award for popular music − the Library of Congress Gershwin Prize for Popular Song − to Sir Paul McCartney in the East Room of the White House.
Jude, don’t be afraid…
Artists from all genres and backgrounds joined the President and First Lady to honor Paul McCartney, including Stevie Wonder, the Jonas Brothers, Faith Hill, Emmylou Harris, Lang Lang, Herbie Hancock, Elvis Costello, Jack White, Corinne Bailey Rae, David Grohl, and Jerry Seinfeld.
And anytime you feel the pain,
hey Jude, refrain,
don’t carry the world upon your shoulder.
The concert will be broadcast on PBS stations nationwide on Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at 8:00 PM as “In Performance at the White House Celebrating the Music of Paul McCartney: The Library of Congress Gershwin Prize.”
For well, you know that it’s a fool
who plays it cool
by making his world a little colder.
But thanks to your good friends at Yes We Can! Long Island, we are sharing a 2 minute segment of Hey Jude. Hope you enjoy it!
“… you have billions of us who are rooting for you, and we know you are going to come through.” – said Paul.
