WaPo: Inside look at Obama as President

A year into the first “modern” presidency, the first President to have the Internet at his desk, the first to enjoys the convenience of email, the Washington Post gives us some insight into where President Obama gets his information, what he watches on TV, and how he deliberates the tough issues of the day.

“This is someone who in law school worked with [Harvard professor] Larry Tribe on a paper on the legal implications of Einstein’s theory of relativity,” said senior adviser David M. Axelrod. “He does have an incisive mind; that mind is always put to use in pursuit of tangible things that are going to improve people’s lives.”

What influences this president, as he starts a second year in office and addresses the state of the union to an increasingly anxious public and restive Congress? What does he read? To whom does he turn for advice? For solace? For unfiltered information?

    ANOTHER "NOBEL" QUEST FOR OBAMA?

Alexrod's comment about Obama and Larry Tribe leads me to wonder whether the Obamacons are trying to position Obama for a second Noble Prize, this one in the field of physics.

Obama's theoretical work in physics was "brilliant" and "very impressive," said Tribe in 2007:

The Obama-Tribe article on the curvature of constitutional space shows Obama's "incisive mind," according to David Alexrod as quoted in the Washington Post.

(Others think it shows Obama's "a space cadet":

Given that Obama's such a Renaissance Man, possibly the idea is for Obama to win a Nobel in each field before the end of his second term (maybe the folks who administer the Nobel Prizes will need to create new Nobels to accomodate Obama's abilities and accomplishments).

At the very minimum Obama's fans must be counting on three Nobels, which I think would be a record, and which would seem to be within reach assuming Obama's past work in physics is found to merit a Nobel. Given the pathbreaking work Obama's recently done in the realm of economics (in particular, he seems on pace to create the first 100-digit national debt, or "Googol debt"), surely Obama will soon qualify for the Nobel in economics. After all, he qualified for the Nobel Peace Prize after just a couple of weeks in office!

Or maybe it just shows Obama is smart enough to understand physics, something many lawyers cannot… nothing more, nothing less.
