Stopping a LNG Island Off the South Shore of Long Island

Yes We Can LI’s LNG Island Committee is fighting Atlantic Island Sea Group’s proposal to build a 60 acre island less than 14 miles off the south shore of Long Island. The United States has a surplus of natural gas, so why should they destroy 116 acres of the ocean’s floor so that we can import liquefied natural gas from countries such as Russia and Indonesia — countries who use energy in power struggles for dominance in the world’s energy market.
