Our groups are coming together to enjoy a fun day in the park—a great opportunity for progressives to come together to share a day of fun, food, and politics.
When we organized this last summer the event was a huge success. We expect to easily exceed the hundred-plus friends who came together to play, eat and mingle.
Activities include “extreme croquet”, a softball game, and whatever you can dream up. Bring a glove, we’ll provide the bats and balls.
Provide your own food and beverages—we have arranged a liquor and beer permit for the day. Barbecue grills are available—pack the charcoal and don’t forget the sunscreen.
The park has a swimming pool available a short distance from our site for those with a Nassau County Leisure Card (or who may wish to pay at the door).
Pop-up canopies are suggested. Coolers and ice, blankets and folding chairs are a good idea.
Directions: Wantagh Parkway South to Merrick Road West. Entrance to park is immediately West of Parkway.
Follow road into park. Our area is on the left of the road, perhaps 1000 feet from the entrance booth.
