YWC!LI Committees Update

Friends,

It has been a while since I last communicated with many of YWC!LI’s members. I would not want you to think that we have been anything but extremely active. Here’s a quick update:

Following our organization’s Founding Convention in March, marking fifteen months since its inception, our Board has formed three issues-based committees. I urge you to take an activist role on one or more issues. We are eager for you to join our efforts as we support and challenge the Obama administration as it moves forward.

Healthcare Committee:

Chairpersons: Esther Confino (escgoing@msn.com); Judy Greenberger (judygreenberger@gmail.com)

Board Liaisons: Judi Sechter (jas923@optonline.net); Ina Hymes (vicki48@optonline.net)

 Energy and Environment Committee:

Chairpersons: Phil Heckler (pheckler@optonline.net); Claudia Borecky wawbeek28@yahoo.com)

            Board Liaison: Bob Young (robertstevenyoung@gmail.com)

 Accountability Committee:

            Chairpersons: (being sought)

Board Liaisons: Joanna Lucas (jojofint@aol.com); Susan Ross (srossso1@aol.com); Nancy Leo (nancyleo@optonline,net);  Phyllis Barell (pbarell@verizon.net)

Just in case you’ve missed President Obama’s presentation at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner, go to our website:  http://www.yeswecanli.org/

If you are not already an online subscriber to the Yes We Can! Long Island website, I encourage you to become one now.  Enter your email address and continue to be updated about YWC!LI’s activities and events.

Even better, join our organization and make a difference: A twelve-month membership is $10.  This covers the cost of almost every YWC!LI activity throughout the year.  Receive a membership card and a beautiful lapel pin.  Send a check to: YWC!LI, Attention Joanna Lucas, Locust Valley, NY 11560

Please feel free to contact me should you have suggestions or questions.
